Get Involved

We are currently looking for volunteers in the following areas. As planning progresses, more volunteer opportunities may arise, so check back here throughout the summer.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work with the Co-Chairs to breakdown what needs to be done between now and the day of the block party to make the event amazing. Tasks include: recruiting volunteers, matching volunteers with the right tasks, keeping track of the status of volunteer efforts.
The Communications/Marketing team is responsible for getting the word out to the Yale and New Haven communities about the block party. Tasks include: writing sponsorship/vendor/performer request letters, designing posters and signage, updating the website
The Sponsorship Outreach team reaches out to sponsors from previous years, and identifies new sponsorship opportunities. The block party budget depends on the efforts of this team for performers, food, and creative ideas to expand the event.
The Merchant Outreach team approaches local stores, restaurants, and other businesses to offer the opportunity to be either an Event Sponsor (donating item(s) for raffle, samples to distribute, coupons to distribute, or providing an event activity) or an Event Participant (staffing an information table, or letting us distribute their marketing materials)
The Activities Outreach team approaches local organizations and businesses to bring active and engaging activities to the block party. The team will help coordinate participation on the day of the event.
The Food Vendor Outreach team will approach local restaurants and food carts to solicit participation.
